Osinbajo To Lead Panel Discussion At 10th Anniversary Of Financial Times Africa Summit In UK

The immediate past Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, will lead a panel discussion on “Navigating the Energy Transition” at the 10th Anniversary of the Financial Times, FT, Africa Summit coming up on the 17th of October, 2023.

 

Prof. Osinbajo will be joined by other notable personalities at the Summit which include Patrice Trovoada, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe; Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO); Judd B. Devermont, Special Assistant to President Joe Biden and Senior Director for African Affairs, White House; Dr. Mo Ibrahim, Founder and Chair of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation; James Mwangi, Founder of Climate Action Platform for Africa; Olugbenga Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, amongst others.

 

The former VP will help frame the panel discussion around the position of African economies in the global energy transition; ascertain if Africa succeeded in pushing its agenda at COP27, as well as the role of gas becoming a transition fuel, and issues around finance and insurance, and its availability.

 

Conversations will also focus on which economies can use the energy transition to their advantage, developing hydrogen industries and effective carbon sink and carbon credit strategies.

 

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the FT Africa Summit will gather a prestigious line-up of businesses, policymakers and thought leaders from Africa and around the world.

 

The Summit is widely recognized as one of the most important international forums for serious and productive discussion about the continent’s challenges and aspirations.
